The Opportunity
Our London office is currently seeking a talented and motivated Manager to be a part of our fast-growing team. As a member of the Front & Middle office team, you will play a pivotal role in advising, implementing and optimising cutting-edge operating and technology solutions for the lifecycle of assets under management for clients. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, review operational structures, configure software platforms, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems. Your expertise will drive efficiency, enhance data accuracy, and empower our clients to make informed investment decisions. Our projects include developing strategic information management plans and roadmaps, conducting operational reviews and audits, designing operational/process improvements, implementing and optimizing operating models, and enabling technology solutions across the front to back office of investment managers and advisors as well as institutional investors, sovereigns, endowments, trusts and family offices. This position is part of an overall, global Business Consulting team that is collaborative and supportive towards providing the best client service with consistent high-quality deliverables. The candidate must be able to identify and investigate problems outlined by the business teams, then drive towards an effective solution. As Alpha Alternatives continues its growth to a leader in Private Markets optimisation, your ability to stay at the forefront of innovative solutions will be critical.
Responsibilities:
- You will be a part of a team participating in the entire lifecycle of designing and implementing best-practice strategy, operating and technology models. In this capacity your responsibilities will include:
- Target Operating Model Design including current state/future state analysis, strategic design, initiative prioritisation, sequencing, road mapping and a phased approach to delivery
- Implementation of operating strategies and technology solutions
- Understand the client’s existing business processes and assist the client in defining improved business solutions based on the client’s strategic goals and constraints, based on Alpha Alternatives industry Accelerator templates
- Work with clients to analyse their current and future business needs, recommend best practice solutions, and define and document project deliverables for these solutions
- Manages project progress, monitoring milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of schedule and identify/mitigate risk
- Produce detailed status reports, track actions, and manage progress meetings
- Staying abreast of industry trends and best practices in portfolio monitoring, valuations, value creation and legal entity management technology
Qualifications and Skills:
- 3-6 years of experience in management consulting, technology or operating in the Private Markets Investment Industry
- Experience with strategy, operating and technology project execution and guiding clients through complex transformation initiatives
- Prior private markets valuations experience required
- Familiar with Private Equity and Private Credit valuations methodologies
- Experience in working with valuations across multiple asset classes (Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Assets)
- Able to interrogate and extract information from multiple valuation methodologies, including income and market based approaches
- Able to lead projects and workstreams independently
- Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Flexibility for travel
