The role for successful candidates is to work on teams tasked with the design and execution of realistic yet innovative solutions across the entire asset lifecycle of alternative investment managers, owners and operators. The role's primary focus will be on Finance and Operations responsibilities within the operating model, focusing on the oversight and outsourcing responsibilities for alternative investment managers within their operating model.
Our projects include:
- Developing strategic information management plans and roadmaps
- Conducting operational reviews and audits
- Designing operational/process improvements
- Implementing and optimizing operating models
- Enabling technology solutions across the operating model of investment managers and advisors as well as institutional investors, sovereigns, endowments, trusts and family offices
This position is part of an overall, global Business Consulting team that is collaborative and supportive towards providing the best client service with consistent high-quality deliverables.
The Senior Consultant will work closely with Engagement Leads as well as both Client and Vendor teams to:
- Document functional business requirements
- Map out current state and target state business processes
- Analyse and identify gaps against industry better practices
- Review and cleanse client source data
- Develop and execute system test plans
- Develop report specifications and undertake final system testing and end user training
The implemented software solutions are typically used by front, middle and back office within our Asset and Fund Manager clients as well as institutional limited partner clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support projects and implementations from initiation to client Go-Live and beyond
- Learn and apply Alpha Alternative’s project methodologies
- Understand the nuances of Alternative Investment operations or subjects related to the completion of projects
- Document business requirements, processes (level 1, 2 and 3) and data/reporting requirements
- Work with clients to analyse their current and future business needs, recommend best practice solutions, and define and document project deliverables for these solutions
- Manage project progress, monitoring milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of schedule and identify/mitigate risk
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-5 years of combined experience in Business Consulting, Business Analysis, System Implementations, Investment Management or Operations preferably within the Alternative Investment industry
- Strong understanding of Alternative Investment Manager Operating models, either through prior experience in fund operations role, fund administration role or auditing of Alternative Investment vehicles
- Experience with strategy, operating and technology project execution and guiding clients through complex transformation initiatives
- Strong communication skills with the ability to create a compelling story from data analysis
- The ability to interact with vendors and partners to acquire technical information critical to a project’s requirements, costs or execution
- Strong project management and coordination skills
- Proven skills in documentation, process mapping (Visio), and other Microsoft Office tools
- Hands-on knowledge of asset management industry systems a plus
