Responsibilities

  • Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all students in our care.
  • Prepare and lead afternoon and evening activities and/or Premium activities, ensuring all students enjoy each activity.
  • Prepare and lead excursion sessions, focusing on cultural immersion and student safety.
  • Review session plans and excursion material in advance along with corresponding risk assessments.
  • Deliver the standard of quality that our students and stakeholders expect of Alpadia.
  • Be friendly and approachable to develop positive relationships with students.
  • Manage students’ behaviour with an awareness of the need to sanction or encourage as appropriate.
  • Prioritise the safety of students, following our Safeguarding and Health and Safety procedures.
  • Supervise students’ free time actively and professionally, ensuring rules are followed and accommodation is kept tidy.
  • Assist in the check-in/check-out procedure.
  • Supervise students at mealtimes.
  • Complete all additional tasks as given by the Camp Manager.

Qualifications

  • Essential:
  • Able to lead, motivate and encourage large groups of teenagers.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent organisational and effective communication skills.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Being flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Display a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to its success.
  • National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).
  • Desirable:
  • Experience working in holiday camps or similar organisations.
  • Keen interest in culture and sport (preferably with relevant qualifications such as First Aid qualification).
  • Experience of working with international students.
  • Previous experience of running an activity/leisure programme.
  • Experience of working with junior students in education or care settings.
  • Basic safeguarding/child protection awareness.

Typically a residential position with accommodation provided on site. We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of our students; therefore all staff employed will be required to provide/undergo an Enhanced DBS check, three referee details and overseas conduct certificates where applicable.
