To achieve optimum management of the camp, the Camp Manager should ensure the following key responsibilities are carried out fully and competently:
- Staff Management: Manage all staff effectively and respectfully, considering their personal development and providing all necessary support. Lead daily meetings to drive performance and relay important messages. Assist the regional manager with the performance management of staff in cases of deficient performance and disciplinary action.
- Student Management: Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of all students in our care. Act as Designated Safeguarding Staff. Manage all students effectively and respectfully, following all Alpadia policies and rules.
- Language Programme: Assist the Academic Manager in line managing all teachers to ensure Alpadia's language programme provides a developing and enjoyable experience for all students.
- Activities Programme: Assist the Activity Manager in line managing all activity leaders to ensure Alpadia's activities are well prepared and delivered.
- Transfers: Take overall in-camp responsibility for the inbound and outbound airport transfers of students.
- Welfare and Health & Safety: Ensure relevant safeguarding, health and safety policies are understood and adhered to. Respond personally to all emergencies that may endanger students and staff.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with all stakeholders in our camps.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by responding to student, parent, and staff inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Administration: Ensure the administration is well organised and delivered to ensure the smooth running of the camp.
- Relationships: Manage your working relationships professionally and sensitively, providing support and feedback to your camp management team.
- Financial Control: Ensure the financial procedures in the camp are handled sensitively and professionally.
- HR Responsibilities: Collaborate with the HR department to ensure all staff understand and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all Alpadia policies and procedures.
- Team Participation and Professional Development: Engage actively in professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications: Proven experience in managing or coordinating summer camps, youth programmes, or similar environments. Experience leading teams and supervising staff in a fast-paced setting. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Relevant degree or equivalent experience in education, recreation, management, or related field.
