We are seeking experienced Energy Lawyers and Planning Lawyers to provide legal support on national planning casework and energy-related planning policy development. This role is focused on delivering impactful legal advice across large-scale infrastructure projects and planning reforms.
Key Responsibilities for Both Roles:
- Providing legal support on planning consent applications for significant infrastructure projects, including energy infrastructure and overhead powerlines.
- Advising on planning reforms, including primary and secondary legislation, and contributing to the development of associated guidance.
- Supporting environmental and planning policies, aligned with the government’s commitments to decarbonisation by 2030 and Net Zero.
- Offering advisory support on planning and environmental litigation, including judicial review challenges and statutory challenges.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified lawyers with experience in planning law, whether at a national or local level.
- Experience in energy infrastructure or large-scale planning projects is highly desirable for the Energy Lawyer role.
- Strong understanding of environmental law and policy, particularly in the context of government decarbonisation and Net Zero objectives.
- Ability to contribute to planning reforms, navigating complex legal landscapes, and advising on high-impact projects.
- Strong legal analysis and casework management skills, with a focus on delivering timely and practical legal advice.
Qualifications:
- Qualified solicitor or barrister in the UK with relevant experience in planning or energy law.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to advise technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
