The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

As the first Human Resources employee in Europe, this individual must be a strong self-starter with a growth mindset. This role will partner directly with cross-functional teams to support the stores across the UK. It involves building out the Retail People processes, policies, and compliance across the UK market, as well as supporting strategic talent growth.

Job Duties:

  • Provide support, thought partnership, and coaching to management and employees on human resources related matters, policies & procedures, and employment law.
  • Conduct investigations into complex employee relations issues and partner with business leaders on resolutions.
  • Assist in queries from employees and work with the HR team to support processes of the entire employee lifecycle.
  • Develop strong cross-functional partnerships with leaders to become the trusted business partner across the retail space.
  • Partner with Legal counsel to roll out Retail Handbooks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws.
  • Launch North American HR initiatives and programs across European stores to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Support local recruitment efforts for all levels and build tools for future effectiveness.
  • Develop HR programs (Benefits, Leave Administration, Health & Safety, Payroll, etc.) aligned with company culture and local legislation.
  • Assist with professional development programs, talent assessment tools, and administer performance reviews.
  • Support and develop an HR team that provides world-class partnership.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of employment law across the UK; knowledge of European employment law is a plus.
  • Previous work experience in retail and with a global company; experience with multiple European countries is a plus.
  • Previous experience managing a team.
  • 5–7 years HR Manager and/or Business Partner experience.
  • Experience supporting hourly employee groups.
  • Experience in retail or high-volume field-facing environments.
  • Proficiency with SharePoint, ADP, Cornerstone, Greenhouse, Microsoft Office systems is a plus.
