Overview
This position will support Alo’s brand protection strategy with a focus on identifying, removing, and seizing counterfeit and unauthorized products across all global markets. The work will be done in partnership with domestic and global vendors and will manage brand protection efforts at retail stores, manufacturing sites, and online platforms. The role will also assist legal counsel in the prosecution of related civil and criminal matters, where applicable. This is a hybrid role based in the Los Angeles area.
Responsibilities
- Execute global Brand Protection Strategy as part of Alo’s legal team, reporting into the Director of Intellectual Property.
- Lead Alo’s Brand Protection efforts by collaborating with senior internal stakeholders and cross‑functional experts in Legal, Manufacturing, Supply, Product and Sales to support anti‑counterfeiting efforts and related enforcement efforts.
- Develop and implement data‑driven strategies for brand enforcement including recommending innovative solutions to achieve the Company’s brand protection goals.
- Manage strategic relationships with customs authorities, police agents, and online marketplaces around the world to facilitate successful risk analysis and enforcement.
- Take the lead in monitoring and responding to the unauthorized resale of Alo products on third‑party marketplaces including conducting investigations and escalating as needed.
- Assess the credibility of market leaders within the space to ensure Alo continues to partner with the top technology providers for enhanced security measures and effective collaboration.
- Represent Alo by attending relevant IP enforcement meetings, conventions, industry association meetings, and training programs to enhance product intelligence and build strong relationships with external contacts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for all global and internal Customer Service departments regarding counterfeit products or suspicious online activity.
- Develop and deliver ongoing anti‑counterfeiting educational and training seminars for internal stakeholders, and when appropriate, for agents, law enforcement, and other agencies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in a full‑time role dedicated to anti‑counterfeiting enforcement and brand protection.
- Proficient understanding of civil and criminal law related to intellectual property including trademark strategy, prosecution and use requirements.
- Experience collaborating effectively with law enforcement agencies, customs, investigators, agencies, and law firms.
- Sensitivity to and practical knowledge of working with individuals from a variety of backgrounds.
- Willingness to take initiative.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
Compensation
The base salary range for this position is $100,000-$130,000 per year.
