An exciting opportunity for a Patient support Team Administrator in Scanning and Coding has become available. We are looking for a friendly, flexible and proactive person to come and join our team. You will be working as part of a small team in one of the sub-departments of the Patient Support Team (Administration). The successful candidate will be required to work Monday and Tuesday 9am - 4pm and Friday 9am - 4.30pm.
Main duties of the job
Dealing with all aspects of incoming and outgoing mail and emails. Scanning and coding of incoming correspondence, forwarding to the appropriate staff member / department. Liaising with all staff at Alnwick Medical Group, patients and hospital staff

Job Summary
The Administrator will be responsible for all general administrative duties and reception duties within Alnwick Medical Group.
Key tasks and Responsibilities
- Carries out any other reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the post.
- Be prepared to help with cover in all departments of the Administration Team.

- Contributes to ensuring patients are seen in a timely, caring and professional manner

- Supports wider team with achieving their objectives where appropriate

- Ensures self-compliance with data protection laws and confidentiality agreements and that of the teams the post holder is responsible for

Person Specification
Qualifications
- GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- NVQ (or equivalent)
- Basic IT
- NVQ in Customer Service, Health or Business management
- Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of SystmOne or other clinical systems.
- Knowledge of GP schedules, training requirements and commitments
Knowledge and Skills
- Sound knowledge of SystmOne
- Excellent telephone manner, system knowledge & skill
- Previous read-coding experience
- Good knowledge of medical terminology
- Previous experience working within a scanning/coding role.
