Almondsbury Garden Centre is a family run independent garden centre in Bristol that has been supporting the community for the past 93 years.
We are looking for an ambitious, self-motivated and experienced Visual Merchandise Manager to join our team.
A love of everything gardening and a particular love of Christmas are desirable.
You will be hands on and an effective team player.
As a Visual Merchandise Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring our Centre looks immaculate and inspiring everyday. You'll need to:
Responsibilities
- use your creativity and awareness of trends to develop ways to promote our products
- liaise with teams about buying, design and marketing to create design themes and plans, often months in advance, including window and in-store displays
- meet with retail managers to implement store sales strategies
- identify and source props, fabrics, hardware and lighting
- maintain a budget and negotiate with suppliers of visual materials
- work with architectural features of store to maximise the available space
- create visual merchandising packs to communicate visual guidelines including layout principles, visual dressings and signage
- assemble or dismantle visual displays in windows or in-store
- seek feedback from colleagues and customers on the visual impact of displays and of the changes implemented.
- Support retail teams when needed.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience of being in visual merchandising role
- Proven record of utilising merchandising to drive sales
- Knowledge of visual merchandising principles
- Ability to develop merchandising skillset through coaching within our estate
- Able to build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues in different areas of the business as you will be working with a multi-functional team
- Ability to adapt your communication style to work with colleagues of varying levels of merchandising abilities
- Able to manage multiple projects at one time
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Able to manage diary and changing priorities
