Job Purpose
To maximise the collection of rental and other housing-related debts by providing an efficient and professional debt recovery service. The postholder will work proactively with current and former tenants, customers and external agencies to recover outstanding debt, minimise financial loss to the Association and ensure all recovery activity is carried out in line with the Association's policies, procedures and relevant legislation.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Maximise the collection of rental and other housing-related debts by providing an efficient and professional debt recovery service.
- Work proactively with current and former tenants, customers and external agencies to recover outstanding debt.
- Minimise financial loss to the Association and ensure all recovery activity complies with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements and the Association's policies and procedures.
- Prepare reports, write-off recommendations and statistical information as required.
- Respond to customer enquiries relating to debt recovery in a professional, empathetic and customer-focused manner.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of debt recovery processes and service delivery.
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required to support the organisation.
