PCV Drivers to support private school transport contracts in and around Ipswich.

The role operates during school term time and involves the safe and professional transportation of pupils using a range of passenger vehicles, from

16-seat minibuses through to 53-seat buses . This is a term-time driving position, offering approximately

30-35 hours per week , with additional overtime and weekend work available where required and mutually agreed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, reliable and professional passenger transport for private school contracts.
  • Drive vehicles ranging from 16-seat minibuses to 53-seat buses.
  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or operational issues.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous approach when dealing with pupils, schools, parents and clients.
  • Follow all relevant road traffic legislation, company procedures and passenger transport requirements.
  • Work approximately 30-35 hours per week during school term time.
  • Undertake additional overtime and weekend work where available and mutually agreed.

Requirements

  • Valid

PCV / Category D driving entitlement .

  • Valid

Driver CPC and all professional driver qualifications required for the role.

  • Relevant passenger transport, bus or coach driving experience.
  • Valid

DBS clearance , or willingness and ability to obtain the required DBS clearance.

  • Availability to work throughout the school term weeks, approximately 35-37 weeks per year.
  • Preferably based in

Ipswich or within a practical commuting distance .

  • Must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom .
  • Good communication skills and a professional approach to working with pupils and schools.
  • Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
  • Additional Information

This is primarily a school-term-time position , with approximately 35-37 working weeks per year.
