The Graduate Electrical Engineer will support the delivery of electrical projects across their full lifecycle, from initial enquiry and technical review through estimating, planning, installation, commissioning support and project close-out. The role is intended for an ambitious candidate with the aspiration to develop into an Electrical Project Manager over time. Working alongside experienced engineers and operational teams, the successful candidate will build technical, commercial and managerial capability while helping to deliver safe, compliant, practical and cost-effective project solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of electrical projects from initial enquiry through to commissioning and final handover.
- Assist with the preparation of estimates, quotations, cost information and commercial submissions.
- Develop an understanding of contractual requirements, project scope, change control and commercial risk.
- Support technical reviews, surveys, design coordination and project planning activities.
- Work with project managers, engineers, supervisors and subcontractors to support safe and efficient project delivery.
- Assist in managing program, resources, materials and site activities to help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Contribute to the preparation and review of risk assessments, method statements and other health, safety, quality and environmental documentation.
- Support the coordination and supervision of on-site technical staff and specialist subcontractors.
- Help build and maintain strong client relationships through professional communication, responsiveness and reliable delivery.
- Assist with procurement activities, technical submissions, equipment selection and supplier engagement.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning activities and project close-out documentation.
- Maintain accurate project records, reports and handover information while developing broader project management awareness.
Candidate Profile
- Final‑year student due to graduate this year, or recent graduate, in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Strong interest in electrical engineering within industrial, utility, water or infrastructure environments.
- Good problem‑solving, analytical and organisational skills.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn from both office and site‑based experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively as part of a team.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with technical information.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
