The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a senior analytical chemist and analytical chemist. Analytical chemists are involved in performing and interpreting analytical testing of peptide products and raw materials using techniques such as UPLC, MS and LC‑MS, ensuring all work is delivered on time and to the required quality. They document activities accurately in line with Technopole SOPs, maintain high laboratory standards, follow safety procedures, and participate in lab rotas and COSHH assessments. They communicate effectively with their line manager and team, identify and address quality events, plan daily tasks to meet project timelines, and keep training requirements up to date.
Senior Analytical Chemists play a key role in ensuring quality control within High Throughput GMP Manufacturing. Their responsibilities include developing and verifying analytical methods for new projects, serving as subject matter experts, and conducting analyses to maintain quality standards. They must be skilled in techniques like HPLC, UPLC, and LC‑MS. Additionally, Senior Analytical Chemists mentor and support Analytical Chemists in their work.
What we are looking for
- Essential Criteria
- GCSE (or equivalent) passes, grades A‑C, in Mathematics and English Language
- Degree Level qualification (or equivalent) in a life science related discipline
- Previous analytical laboratory experience.
- Working knowledge of HPLC and mass spectrometry.
- To be considered for the senior position you will need a significant amount of analytical experience within the pharmaceutical or fine chemical industries.
- Applicants must have eligibility to work in the UK OR possess a valid work permit that will allow you to take up full time, permanent employment in the UK.
