The Role

Almac Sciences are currently recruiting for talented Physical Scientists and Pharmacists to join our growing team at our Craigavon Headquarters in Northern Ireland.

The post holders will perform high quality research and development programs on behalf of external clients to agreed timelines. Research studies will include, drug substance characterisation using advanced solid and solution-state techniques, solid form screening (e.g. polymorph screening, salt screening, co-crystal screening, and crystallisation screening), advanced formulation development (amorphous solid dispersions (ASD) by spray drying and hot melt extrusion, lipid formulations, jet milling / micronisation), and pre-formulation development studies on novel client active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs).

Working as part of a multi-disciplinary project team you will plan carefully, carry out work safely, and document and communicate your methods and results accurately.

  • We have opportunities at Senior Chemist or Technical Leader level. For more information on the specific duties and criteria for each level position, please review the attached job descriptions.

Essential Candidate Criteria

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry. Pharmaceutical Sciences or other closely related discipline.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical drug substance or drug product development

Desirable Candidate Criteria

  • Previous industry-based experience of preformulation, early formulation technologies, and advanced formulation technologies
  • Postgraduate Qualification i.e. MSc, PhD or equivalent in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences or a closely related discipline
