The Opportunity
Join Almac Sciences as an Analytical Laboratory Coordinator and play a key role in supporting the development of life-changing medicines. We are recruiting at either Coordinator or Senior level, depending on your experience. Please review the attached Job Descriptions to establish the duties and criteria at each level.
Working in a fast-paced and collaborative analytical laboratory environment, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the laboratory. Acting as a central point of coordination, you will work closely with laboratory teams to maintain a safe, efficient and compliant working environment that supports the successful delivery of client projects.
In this varied role, you will oversee activities such as:
- Equipment qualification and lifecycle management
- Laboratory compliance programmes
- 5S initiatives
- Maintenance planning
- Laboratory improvement projects
You will help ensure facilities, equipment, documentation and processes meet GMP and regulatory requirements while driving operational excellence across the laboratory. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organisation, problem solving and working with a wide range of stakeholders. You'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on laboratory performance, supporting scientists and technical teams by ensuring the infrastructure, systems and processes they rely on operate effectively and efficiently.
Essential Candidate Criteria:
- GCSE grades A-C, in Mathematics and English Language (or equivalent)
- Degree level qualification in an Analytical/Chemistry related discipline or equivalent experience
- Previous relevant laboratory experience in a GMP/GLP environment
- Working knowledge of multiple laboratory techniques and ability to troubleshoot
