The Alma Road Surgery, Romsey is looking for an ambitious, motivated GP to join us as a permanent list holding Salaried GP. We are offering an exciting opportunity to work 5-6 sessions per week. You will be supported by our friendly team of clinicians: 7 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs, 1 Retained GP, 2 GP Registrars and a large nursing team. Our clinical team works closely to support each other in a culture of learning and development with daily morning team coffee breaks for collaboration.

Alma Road Surgery is a forward-thinking training practice, supporting just over 16,000 patients. Our practice is situated in the semi-rural town of Romsey, close to the New Forest and cities of Southampton and Winchester providing good travel links. We pride ourselves on continuing to deliver a very traditional and high level of care to our patients. We are part of the Romsey, North Baddesley and Eastleigh PCN, encompassing a broad multidisciplinary team of clinical pharmacists, first contact physiotherapists, vulnerable families team, wellbeing team and social prescribers shared across the network.

Good CQC rating and very high QOF performance. SystemOne Web clinical system. Efficient workflow systems and strong administrative support to minimise unnecessary workload and maximise clinical time. Established GP training and teaching practice.

Main duties of the job:
  • Daily clinics with a balance of face-to-face appointments and telephone triage of patients.
  • Part of the Duty rota.
  • Home visits when required.
  • Prescription signing.
  • Documentation relating to patient care, including referral letters, medical reports, and certification of sickness.
  • Attendance at in-house meetings, significant event audit meetings and others as deemed necessary.
