Alma Personnel are pleased to be working with their Birmingham based client, specialist manufacturer/supplier of utility products around the world. They are seeking an experienced Service Technician/Engineer with gas and electrical knowledge to be based from their site, with occasional travel to customer sites for fault finding and repair. Support the service department including the customer base building lasting relationships in your quest to providing the best customer experience. This multifaceted role combines on-site technical repairs, in-house equipment refurbishments, and high-level technical support for our service desk and third-party contractors.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for end-users, providing solutions via phone, email, and on-site visits
- Conduct third-party site visits to diagnose and repair complex faults on commercial gas and electrical equipment
- Execute professional in-house conversions of commercial units to meet specific client requirements
- Test, diagnose, and repair returned units or spare parts to a 'saleable' condition to maximize asset recovery
- Maintain an expert-level understanding of industry laws and gas/electrical regulations to ensure total departmental adherence
- Assist in the broader evolution of the service department through administrative support and workflow optimization
- Exceptional verbal and written skills, with the ability to translate complex technical jargon for customers
- Takes ownership of technical issues from first report to final resolution
