AACE are looking for Technical Publications Specialists to produce a variety of publications for the Ministry of Defence (MOD), often taking manufacturers’ data, such as manufacturers’ manuals, and producing technical publications in specific formats as applicable to the Service requirement. The role also includes the ability to write technical instructions, such as modification leaflets or maintenance instructions, requiring engineering training and experience. The work expands into technical reviews of existing publications, incorporating solutions to unsatisfactory feature reports and delivering a compliant and technically correct amended technical publication to the latest MOD standards, using the Office 360 suite.
We are looking for trained and experienced Engineers, ideally with a military background or experience of providing MOD standard technical documentation into the military customer. In addition, experience of working in an Engineering Development Team within the MOD, such as AEDIT (Aircraft Engineering Development & Investigation Team) or Delivery Team, and an understanding of technical illustrations/drawings would be an advantage.
Key Skills and Experience- Experience and understanding of current MOD technical publications standards
- Experience of MS Word advanced features, such as style guides and formatting, as well as excellent written English are essential
- The ability to use initiative and to work independently to deliver against stringent targets and often to tight deadlines
- The ability to hold security clearance at the required level
