The Security Test Co-ordinator plays a key role within the Enterprise Security Testing function, ensuring that all security testing activities are efficiently planned, resourced, executed, and completed to a high standard. The role is responsible for coordinating internal and third-party security testing resources, managing test plans, ensuring prerequisites are met, and making sure testing aligns with internal processes and governance requirements. The co-ordinator ensures that testing outcomes flow smoothly through triage, remediation, retesting, and closure.

What you’ll be doing

  • Security Test Planning & Coordination
    • Manage the end-to-end planning of security tests, ensuring clarity of scope, objectives, timelines, and required resources.
    • Assign appropriate internal or external testers based on skills, capacity, and test requirements.
    • Maintain the testing schedule and proactively identify risks, dependencies, or conflicts.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Process Management
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure test plans are fully understood and properly scoped.
    • Guide teams through scoping discussions to ensure accurate and actionable test requirements.
    • Communicate testing timelines, prerequisites, and expected responsibilities across teams.
  • Operational & Resource Management
    • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of internal and third-party testers in line with enterprise processes.
    • Ensure all pre-requisites (access, environments, test accounts, approvals) are in place for tests to start on time.
    • Provide occasional onsite supervision when third-party testers or activities require physical oversight.
  • Lifecycle Management of Test Results
    • Ensure security testing findings progress through the full lifecycle: triage, remediation assignment, retesting, and closure.
    • Track remediation progress with stakeholders and ensure SLAs and internal policies are met.
    • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting throughout the lifecycle.
  • Governance, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
    • Maintain clear documentation of processes, decisions, and test artefacts.
    • Support improvements to security testing processes, workflows, and governance.
    • Ensure work aligns with enterprise security standards, policies, and compliance requirements.

What experience we’re looking for

  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent testing activities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-engagement abilities, including facilitating scoping conversations and resolving blockers.
  • Experience coordinating technical teams, suppliers, or testing activities (security testing experience is highly advantageous).
  • Ability to understand problems, work collaboratively to solve them, and clearly document outcomes.
  • Familiarity with security testing processes (e.g., penetration testing, vulnerability scanning, red/blue team activities) is beneficial.
  • Ability to manage suppliers and work within structured enterprise processes.
  • Competent in tracking actions, dependencies, risks, and timelines across multiple workstreams.
  • Requirement to report security testing updates and overviews to executive and c-suite.

Skills that would be beneficial (but not essential)

  • Understanding of common security testing methodologies (e.g., OWASP, NIST).
  • Experience working in large enterprises or regulated environments.
  • Exposure to security tooling (e.g., vulnerability management platforms, test management systems).
  • Supplier or vendor management experience.
  • Security-related certifications or project/coordination certifications (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile).
  • Relevant security or technology experience through industry roles, training, or hands-on practice.
