- A bit about the role
- Report to the Retail Planning Manager and support planning activity for National Account Team (NAT) priorities across the Retail Channel.
- Help develop and maintain the tools, trackers and planning materials used by the Retail Sales Team to deliver key initiatives
- Support the Retail Planning Manager and Senior Retail Planning Manager in creating clear plans that keep retailers at the centre of our thinking.
- Contribute to the Planning, Communications and Training framework and the Go to Market planning process, making sure retail priorities, timings and requirements are aligned.
- Work closely with National Account Managers, Retail Channels, Supply Chain, Customer and Retail Care, Concierge and other internal teams to support smooth delivery and issue resolution.
- Help bring The National Lottery to life for retailers by supporting practical, consistent and well-communicated retail execution.
- What you’ll be doing
- Planning and coordination
- Maintain the NAT planner, trackers and supporting documents, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and easy to use.
- Support the build of yearly and quarterly Retail Contact Model plans and NAT requirements.
- Help translate briefs into clear actions, timelines and stakeholder asks.
- Support the Retail Planning Manager with planning inputs for alignment calls and Go to Market activity.
- Retail execution and operations
- Support improvements to retail channel operations, processes, capabilities and tools.
- Help develop ways to deliver strong in-store execution of The National Lottery across the retail estate, considering format, sector and retailer nuances.
- Support deployment queries and escalations, working with National Account Executives and deployment leads to help resolve issues
- Support the scratchcard returns process, including helping ensure NAT accounts have the right bags and complete closures on time.
- Communication and stakeholder support
- Collate communication requirements, align with the communications team and support the sign-off process.
- Prepare clear decks, updates and supporting documents for retail teams, workgroups and meetings, including the Retail Channels Steering Group.
- Support National Account Managers through chat groups, helping manage questions, updates and escalations.
- Attend relevant weekly status meetings with other Retail Planning Executives and share key updates with the planning team.
- Tools, systems and continuous improvement
- Support requirements gathering and ongoing use of the GEM suite capability for NAT back-end activity.
- Responsible for the day to day running of GEMi including issue escalation and ideation for future developments
- Own the tactical data requests and alignment for the field teams
- Monitor and action new requests for the Retail Strategy and Excellence team through the front door process.
- Support the briefing and creation of Category Story materials.
- What experience we’re looking for
- Some experience in retail, field sales, commercial operations, planning, account support, project coordination or a similar fast-paced business environment.
- A good understanding of retail execution, store operations or brand activation, with an interest in how plans land in-store.
- Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, keep trackers accurate and follow through on actions.
- Confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear updates, decks and documents.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally and building positive relationships with colleagues across different teams.
- Able to use business reporting, data and feedback to understand issues and help identify practical improvements
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Experience with Google Suite, CMS platforms or planning tools would be helpful, but can be developed.
- Curious, proactive and keen to learn, with the confidence to ask questions, challenge constructively and suggest improvements.
- Retailer-focused, with the ability to think about what plans mean for retailers and how to make them clear, manageable and effective.
- Commercially aware, with an interest in sales performance, customer experience and the role of The National Lottery in retail.

- Plans, trackers and planning documents are accurate, current and easy for stakeholders to use.
- NAT and Retail teams receive clear, timely and useful support to help deliver priorities.
- Retailer impact is considered in planning recommendations, communications and operational decisions.
