Description

At the heart of everything we do is our vision to change lives every day, and our mission to grow The National Lottery responsibly and champion its impact.

We are Allwyn UK, part of the Allwyn Entertainment Group – a multi-national lottery operator with a market-leading presence across the USA (Michigan and Illinois) and Europe, including Czech Republic, Austria, Greece, Cyprus and Italy.

While the main contribution of The National Lottery to society is through the funds to good causes, at Allwyn we put our purpose and values at the heart of everything we do.

Join us as we embark on a once-in-a-lifetime, largescale transformation journey by creating a National Lottery that delivers more money to good causes.

We’ll talk a bit more about us further down the page, but for now – let’s talk about the role and who we’re looking for…

Allwyn’s inhouse agency: Studio 59

Studio 59 is Allwyn’s new in‑house agency.

A fast, integrated hub built to elevate how we tell The National Lottery’s story.

Bringing creative, production, planning and media together across a single, integrated team, we’re engineered for pace, efficiency and standout quality.

Our mission is simple: create bold, social‑first, audience‑led work that strengthens player engagement and gives The National Lottery a single, authentic brand voice.

With a best‑of‑both model that blends strengthened internal talent with top‑tier external partners, we deliver dynamic, personalised content at scale.

A bit about the role

The Junior Creative is an entry-level role focused on supporting the Studio 59 creative team in the development and execution of ideas across all National Lottery channels.

Reporting to a Senior Creative, you will bring a "hybrid" mindset—meaning you’re just as comfortable brainstorming a big campaign hook as you are resizing an asset or drafting social copy.

This role is about learning the ropes of a fast-paced in-house agency, honing your craft, and ensuring every piece of work, no matter how small, is delivered with enthusiasm and precision.

This role is designed for a high-potential individual who is eager to soak up knowledge, support the senior team on big ideas, and take ownership of smaller, fast-turnaround tasks.

  • What you’ll be doing
  • Creative Support & Execution
  • Idea Generation: Participate in brainstorms and "sprints," contributing fresh perspectives and diverse ideas for campaigns and always-on content.
  • Hybrid Asset Creation: Assist in producing a wide range of creative assets, from social media stories and static banners to basic motion graphics or copy tweaks.
  • Brief Execution: Take simple briefs and translate them into clean, on-brand creative outputs under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Collaboration & Learning
  • Mentorship: Work closely with the Senior Creative to understand how to interpret feedback and refine your work to meet high industry standards.
  • Cross-Functional Exposure: Shadow the Production and Delivery teams to learn how creative work moves through a professional studio ecosystem.
  • Asset Management: Assist in prepping files for delivery, ensuring everything is named correctly and follows the studio’s technical specs.
  • Brand Stewardship
  • Brand Immersion: Learn The National Lottery brand guidelines inside-out, ensuring every piece of work is "on-brand" in both look and tone.
  • Consistency: Maintain a high level of attention to detail, checking for typos, alignment issues, or brand inconsistencies before work is shared.
  • Delivery & Growth
  • Pace & Agility: Support the studio’s reactive "fast-turnaround" needs, helping the team respond to real-time cultural moments or winners’ stories.
  • Self-Development: Proactively seek out new tools, AI innovations, and creative trends to bring back to the wider team
  • What experience we’re looking for
  • Key Skills & Experience
  • The "Hybrid" Skillset: A foundational knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) and an interest in writing or basic motion.
  • Portfolio: A showreel or portfolio (can include student/personal work) that demonstrates creative potential and a "knack" for visual storytelling.
  • Curiosity: A deep interest in UK culture, social media trends, and what makes people click, share, or participate.
  • Resilience: A positive attitude toward feedback; you see "v1, v2, and v3" as opportunities to learn, not failures.
  • Communication: Ability to explain your ideas clearly and listen intently to creative direction.
  • Qualification: A degree in a creative field or equivalent experience/internships within a creative environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Key Measures of Success
  • Growth Trajectory: Demonstrable improvement in craft (design/copy/concepting) over the first six months.
  • Dependability: Consistently meeting internal deadlines and following studio workflows.
  • Proactivity: Actively contributing to creative sessions and volunteering for tasks to support the wider team.
  • Brand Accuracy: Minimal "corrections" needed on brand-specific elements like logos, colors, and tone.
