From individual softeners to fully integrated turnkey systems, we bring smart engineering, practical expertise and lasting support to every project, helping our customers reduce consumption, meet demanding standards and take control of their water treatment with confidence.
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Sales Manager to grow our UK business, win new customers and develop the full potential of our existing accounts.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll own opportunities from initial enquiry or prospecting through to negotiation and close. Working alongside our engineering and operations teams, you’ll understand customers’ requirements and turn them into commercially sound, technically credible proposals.
Your focus will extend beyond the initial equipment or project sale. You’ll build lasting relationships and identify opportunities across the customer lifecycle, including servicing, system optimisation, upgrades and water reuse.
You’ll also help shape our sales strategy: identifying promising markets, bringing customer insight into the business and working with marketing to develop qualified opportunities.
What You'll Do
- Develop new business: identify and approach prospective customers, qualify inbound enquiries and build opportunities across the UK.
- Grow existing accounts: understand customers’ changing requirements and identify opportunities for further projects, equipment, service agreements and upgrades.
- Own the sales process: manage opportunities from first conversation through proposal, negotiation and close.
- Develop credible solutions: work with engineering colleagues to assess customer requirements, coordinate site surveys and develop the technical scope, costings and quotations.
- Sell long-term value: help customers understand how investment in water treatment can improve reliability, reduce consumption and support environmental compliance.
- Shape our market focus: use sector knowledge, market developments and customer feedback to inform sales and marketing activity.
- Maintain a clear commercial picture: keep CRM records and forecasts accurate, reporting pipeline progress, expected revenue, margin and risks to the Managing Director.
- Support successful delivery: provide a clear handover to engineering and operations, ensuring customer requirements and commitments are understood.
- Stay connected after the sale: work with service and technical colleagues to identify further ways to support each customer.
What You'll Bring
You’ll have at least two years’ sales experience in water treatment, with a track record of developing opportunities and closing business. Your technical knowledge may be in clean water, industrial wastewater, or both—for example, reverse osmosis, softening, filtration and ion exchange, or wastewater processes such as flocculation, settlement and filtration.
You’ll also bring:
- The ability to understand industrial processes, ask useful questions and recognise where water treatment can add value.
- Confidence working with technical specialists to develop practical, well-scoped proposals.
- Commercial judgement, including an understanding of pricing, margin and negotiation.
- The ability to build relationships with engineering, operations, procurement and senior decision-makers.
- A structured approach to prospecting, account development, pipeline management and forecasting.
- The initiative to create opportunities and the persistence to progress longer sales cycles.
- Clear communication and a commitment to following through on customer commitments.
- Willingness to travel across the UK for customer meetings and site visits.
What Success Looks Like
You’ll build a qualified pipeline, win commercially sound business and develop stronger relationships with new and existing customers. Success will include capital project and equipment sales, alongside opportunities for recurring service revenue, upgrades and optimisation.
Working with the Managing Director, you’ll agree priorities and targets covering sales, margin, account development and forecast accuracy.
What We Offer
- A competitive base salary.
- Performance-based commission and bonus where your success directly boosts your earnings.
- Simplyhealth Wellbeing Cashback scheme.
- Pension scheme (Legal & General).
- A company car or car allowance.
- Hybrid/remote working flexibility.
- Direct access to the Managing Director and the opportunity to influence sales strategy.
- Ongoing training, technical support and professional development.
- Opportunities to progress as the business grows.
- A collaborative team with substantial water treatment expertise.
