We’re looking for an experienced Chief Medical Officer to join our A‑team (hybrid*/remote). This is a unique opportunity at an innovative full‑service global CRO. In this role, you’ll be responsible for setting the department strategy and overall utilization and profitability of Allucent Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance. The position controls and monitors the overall activities of the Medical affairs and Pharmacovigilance team, including overseeing safety systems and accurate reporting of safety issues. The CMO is a member of the Senior Leadership team, supervises reporting areas according to the organizational chart and reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and implement the business strategy for the Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance departments
  • Develop and agree upon annual revenues, sales, profit and operational targets for the Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance departments
  • Evaluate and direct the organization’s activities to achieve targets for trading performance, quality, culture and legislative adherence.
  • Develop and agree upon operating procedures / business processes
  • Preside as needed over (senior) management team meetings
  • Maintain and develop organizational culture, values, and reputation
  • Report to applicable stakeholders on business strategy planning, results and performance for the Medical affairs and Pharmacovigilance department
  • Act as the organization’s representative in its dealings with the outside world
  • Manage direct reporting staff
  • Actively contribute to staff learning & development within the company
  • Monitor and assure client satisfaction on existing projects for the Medical Affairs and Pharmacovigilance department with related activities
  • Identify key accounts and maintain strong long‑lasting relationships to win new and repeat business

Requirements

  • MD degree
  • Valid medical license
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant work experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in drug development and/or clinical research
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a management role
  • Good knowledge of GxP, GDPR/HIPAA, CFR/CTR/CTD and applicable (local) regulatory requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including good command of English language
  • Representative, outgoing and client focused
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced challenging environment of a growing company
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Effective at problem solving, strategic thinking and conflict resolution
  • Strong presentation and networking capabilities

Our in‑office work policy encourages a dynamic work environment, prescribing 2 days in office per week for employees within reasonable distance from one of our global offices. For this role you can be home‑based.
