The Role: We are seeking a full-time Business Analyst with strong public sector experience to work in a small team alongside client staff. Most work will be performed from home, however there will be occasional work on client site (London). The core working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm. Please note that due to the nature of our work, successful applicants will be subject to UK Security Clearance checks.

Ideal candidates will specialise, or have proven experience in one or more of the following capability areas:

  • Requirements capture and analysis using AGILE techniques.
  • AGILE-based delivery using COTS products.
  • User stories, Acceptance criteria, use cases, user journeys.
  • Business process mapping and process re-engineering.
  • Target Operating Model definition and delivery.
  • Writing training material.
  • Writing and executing test scripts.

The role will require:

  • Designing, preparing and facilitating engaging user workshops to identify needs, requirements, objectives and priorities of stakeholders.
  • Identifying ways of improving processes, through workshops with subject matter experts.
  • Ability to ensure requirements are captured clearly, accurately and comprehensively with the use of user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases and user journeys.
  • Development of process designs and maps.
  • Working with systems integrators and software developers.
  • Working to an agreed Minimum Viable Product (MVP) based scope delivered using focussed Agile Sprints.
  • Apply a digital understanding to the work and identify and implement solutions.
  • Innovative work with the most appropriate tools and methods.
  • Analysis and preparation of test materials.
  • Execution of tests and capturing of results.
  • Confidence in leading client workshops; communicating with confidence and ensuring emphasis on impact to generate adoption.

Regarding knowledge, skills and experience, we require:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills, to confidently and articulately present virtually and in person to clients; immediately creating positive impressions and establishing rapport.
  • Strong documentation ability and written communication skills.
  • Experienced user of JIRA.
  • Must be a team-player. Working with and supporting colleagues is a critical success factor for employment at AllThorpe.
  • 3 years’ experience minimum in a Business Analyst role (ideally within the public sector).
  • Educated to a minimum of Bachelor’s degree.

Salary: The salary for this role will be determined by level of experience within the range of £35,000-£60,000. There is also the option to work as a subcontractor for a day rate of £300-£450 dependent on experience.

Start Date & Interview Process: Screening interviews will take place via a 20-minute Teams call with the Managing Partner. Successful shortlisting will then be followed by a competency interview of 30 minutes. There may be a final face-to-face meeting with team leaders if determined necessary.
