Your role in the team
The Enterprise Economics & Risk Analysis (EERA) team is across-functional team operating at the heart of decision-making at Allstate. The team quantifies and optimizes risk and return for Allstate leveraging a comprehensive economic capital model. EERA is led by the Chief Economist and has team members in USA and UK. The team reports to the Chief Risk Officer and provides advice directly to the CEO, Senior LeadershipTeamand the Board of Directors.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Economic Capital branch of EERA to support economic capital decision-making and business-wide risk analysis. This role is responsible for performing quantitative analysis and research, specifically dynamic multi-factor risk modeling and scenario analysis. The role will assist with the continued development of our Economic Capital framework, which is based on multivariate conditional time series analysis. The team has a wide range of skill sets, including econometricians, economists, quantitative analysts, coders and financial analysis
Key Responsibilities
- Research, develop and implement time-series models across underwriting, investments, and other risk types
- Assist in managing and improving the Enterprise risk modelling framework and scenario analysis
- Support the Measurement Science Center of Excellence in designing and evaluating metrics for key Allstate initiatives
Essential Skills
- All applicants must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. For exceptional candidates we may consider sponsorship.
- A PhD (or final year PhD student) in Econometrics or other economics related field of study, OR a Masters Degree & 3+ years’ experience in quantitative research or applied economics
- Prior experience in time series modeling
- Familiarity of Bayesian econometrics
- Programming experience in Matlab, R or Python
Desirable Skills
- Experience of risk modeling is a plus
- Solid understanding of macroeconomics, financial markets, and risk management is a plus
