The Core Engineering Platform (CEP) organization provides a foundational platform ecosystem with a comprehensive set of capabilities that empowers end users and digital product teams to innovate seamlessly and drive growth for Allstate through the Consumer Connected Cloud mission. This ecosystem aims to provide an absolute frictionless experience for our user community.
As a Principal Digital Product Manager in the CEP organization, you'll own the vision and roadmap for our Hosting Product Group which includes cloud products, compute & storage products, and our mainframe products. You define the strategy and annual commitments while ensuring products are iteratively delivering business value and ensuring alignment of customer needs. You are accountable for a consistent application of product practices, including ways of working, behaviours, product mindset and work breakdown. This role is critical for ensuring processes and experiences are ready for the digital future-state and partner with the respective stakeholders to drive the necessary elimination, optimization and reengineering solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of technology, user experience, and data-driven decision-making to drive digital transformation and deliver exceptional user experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Strategy: Own the strategic direction of your area of responsibility (~20 products across cloud, compute & storage, and mainframe) ensuring continuous alignment to the highest priority outcomes; including vision and strategy for suite of digital products, developing & managing a strategic roadmap.
- Market Research: Conduct market and user research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape. Connect emerging tech and market trends to influence business strategy and achieve value.
- Product Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to inform architectural decisions, support solution design and determine the appropriate path forward. Drive delivery acceleration through reuse of capabilities and smarter, simpler ways to achieve outcomes on a consistent basis.
- Roadmap Management and Alignment: Drive alignment on strategic intent and related priorities across teams and areas of responsibilities. Influence digital product strategy and backlogs across product areas in support of strategic priorities.
- Performance Monitoring: Own over-arching intended outcome and ensure that product KPIs converge toward the ultimate intent across areas.
- Stakeholder Management: Communicate product progress and updates to internal stakeholders and external partners ensuring appropriate prioritization and coordination of the work.
- Vendor Management: Engage in strategic vendor management where necessary ensuring interactive partnership with both our external vendors and internal sourcing leaders.
- Budget Management: Forecast ongoing total cost of ownership of your products, manage budgets including vendor contract management, hardware costs, labor costs, etc. ensuring operation effectiveness; develops strategies and adjust courses of action.
- Advance Product Management Trade: Grow & mature Digital Product Management practitioner skills with your peers and team to drive consistency on DPM product practices, ways of working, ceremonies, behaviours and increasing product mindset, as well as fostering the growth of individuals on your team.
- Grow Talent: Foster and evangelize Product Management community to recruit, attract, and develop world class talent. Create career opportunities and ensure mobility for key top talent, including succession plan for Lead DPMs.
- Influence Operating Model: Work across the enterprise, focusing in the technology organization, to drive product-centric thinking and optimization of our ways of working.
Essential Skills:

- A minimum of 5 years of experience conducting product scoping, discovery, framing, and backlog ownership for digital products.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience coaching and leading global teams.
- Demonstrated experience applying Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) in a product delivery environment and using product management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Aha!, or similar to managing requirements, backlogs, roadmaps, and delivery outcomes.
- Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycles, human-centered design principles, UX/UI design practices, and digital marketing concepts, evidenced through delivery of digital products, features, campaigns, or customer experience improvements.
- Proven ability to analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data, using insights, metrics, and customer feedback to inform product decisions, prioritization, and performance optimization.
Desirable Skills:
- 4-year bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience, degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience managing or influencing product strategy for enterprise infrastructure platforms, including cloud, compute, storage, and hosting.
- Strong understanding of public cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and the operational capabilities required to support enterprise-scale adoption.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation practices utilizing technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, GitOps, or similar platforms.
- Direct experience with Linux (RHEL), Windows, compute, storage, database, or mainframe platforms.
