Your role in the team:

  • As a Senior Consultant II, you will design and implement applications following 12‑factor principles, owning the full stack from front‑end experiences to back‑end services.
  • Leverage test‑driven development, continuous integration, and modern engineering practices to ensure agility, scalability, and quality.
  • Influence architectural decisions to choose the simplest, most effective technology choices that align with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate full‑stack development skills and meet delivery velocity and quality expectations.
  • Build and maintain reusable frameworks, libraries, components, REST APIs, front‑ends, and abstraction layers.
  • Participate in daily stand‑ups, iteration planning, and retrospectives.
  • Shape product architecture and design, selecting optimal technologies and solving technical problems.
  • Establish and follow CI/CD pipelines and practices.
  • Create and update technical product documentation.
  • Provide support to developers who use the team’s products.

Essential Skills:

  • Legal right to work in the UK; Allstate does not provide sponsorship.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Java, Spring Boot, Python, React JS.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Jest, Jasmine.

Desirable Skills:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with distributed systems, operating systems, networking, databases, security, and analytics.
  • Experience in cloud computing environments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience designing and developing reusable frameworks/libraries.
  • Experience using GitHub and Jenkins.
