Your role in the team: The Paralegal will provide paralegal support for SquareTrade's dynamic legal team. We operate in the device insurance space and have recently received approval to become an insurer in Belgium. You'll be supporting a busy international team supporting operations in the UK and EEA. You'll be involved in a broad range of work with real and valued input in live Legal and Compliance matters. Note: This role is a 12 month fixed term contract with the possibility of extension.
Key responsibilities:
- Liaising with members of the legal team based in London on a regular basis (some travel to the London office may be required).
- The reviewing of, drafting, and amending of a wide range of legal documents including customer terms and conditions for device insurance products, and third party requests helping to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
- Independent management of your own workload to key customer deadlines.
- Assisting with contract management (execution of contracts, ensuring that all documents are correctly filed and saved).
- The coordination and management of legal and compliance projects, to ensure all requisite deadlines are met, producing high quality deliverables.
- Use Salesforce, Microsoft Office package and other software and applications as required.
- Be involved in specialist projects on an ad hoc basis.
- Provide general administrative support within the Legal team, including maintaining legal databases and files.
- Reviewing and collating information from involved parties, including stakeholders.
- Draft comprehensive legal responses to third party requests for information from courts, police, legal professionals and other insurance companies.
Essential Skills:
- All applicants must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. Allstate is not providing sponsorship for this vacancy.
- A 2.1 or above in a law related Undergraduate Degree or postgraduate degree.
- A minimum of 6 months experience working as a paralegal or similar legal support role within an international organisation.
- Experience drafting complex legal documentation.
Desirable Skills:
- A minimum of 12 months experience working as a paralegal or similar legal support role within an international organisation.
- Use of Salesforce or similar customer relationship database (CRM).
- Experience of using case management systems and other software packages.
- Experience of working within the insurance industry.
