The Product Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high‑quality application solutions. This role ensures code quality through thorough testing, structured code reviews, and accurate documentation, while collaborating closely with product, project, and quality teams to deliver reliable, secure software. The engineer supports the adoption of GenAI‑enabled solutions by translating business problems into AI‑assisted and agentic workflows, establishing governance and engineering standards, and integrating AI capabilities with enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately document design and code fixes for completed work to ensure knowledge sharing and maintainability.
  • Generate and code work units for simple to intermediate changes, enhancements, and modules according to specifications and standards.
  • Provide and confirm estimates for assigned work units and communicate progress or risks, proactively working with project managers to stay aligned with timelines.
  • Support the review of business, functional, and high‑level technical requirements, including technical recovery, security, and audit, to understand scope and contribute to solution design and rollback considerations.
  • Assist with change‑management activities supporting production deployment for developers, quality control analysts, and environment management personnel.
  • Track and resolve simple to intermediate defects, identify support issues, and escalate more complex problems where appropriate.
  • Support the translation of business problems into AI‑assisted workflows, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation.
  • Contribute to the design and development of AI‑powered solutions and agents, working alongside senior engineers where needed.
  • Support continuous improvement of AI solutions based on model performance, outcomes, and user feedback.
  • Follow established standards and best practices for prompt engineering, agent configuration, and reuse.
  • Participate in integrating GenAI solutions with enterprise knowledge sources, APIs, and applications.
  • Apply best practices for data quality, grounding strategies, and retrieval approaches to improve accuracy and reduce errors.
  • Support adherence to AI governance, security, and compliance guidelines, with guidance from senior team members and architects.

Essential Skills

  • Legal right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided).
  • Minimum of 3 years working with Python.
  • Minimum of 3 years working with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and asynchronous processing.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS also acceptable), including building, deploying, or integrating applications using cloud‑based services.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of Java / Spring Boot.
  • Experience with React.js or modern frontend frameworks.
  • Experience in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
  • Knowledge of ethical AI practices and compliance frameworks.
  • Knowledge in Generative AI, LangChain, LLM orchestration, and prompt engineering.
