Principal Digital Product Manager – Core Engineering Platform (CEP)
Owns the vision, strategy, roadmap and execution for the Hosting Product Group, overseeing cloud, compute, storage and mainframe products. Drives digital transformation, ensures products deliver business value, and aligns with customer needs while partnering with stakeholders to optimize processes and experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and roadmap for approximately 20 products across cloud, compute & storage, and mainframe.
- Conduct market and user research to identify trends, customer needs and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to inform architectural decisions, support solution design and determine appropriate product paths.
- Drive delivery acceleration through reuse of capabilities and simpler ways to achieve outcomes consistently.
- Manage and align strategic intent and priorities across teams, influencing digital product strategy and backlogs.
- Own overarching product outcomes, ensuring KPIs converge toward intended business objectives.
- Communicate product progress to internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring prioritization and coordination.
- Engage in strategic vendor management, partnering with external vendors and internal sourcing leaders.
- Forecast and manage total cost of ownership, budgets, vendor contracts, hardware and labor costs, adjusting strategies as needed.
- Lead Product Management practice growth, fostering consistency in DPM principles, ceremonies, behaviors and product mindset.
- Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, providing career opportunities and succession planning for Lead DPMs.
- Drive product‑centric thinking and optimization of enterprise ways of working.
Qualifications
- Legal right to work in the UK – no sponsorship provided.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product scoping, discovery, framing and backlog ownership for digital products.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience coaching and leading global teams.
- Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and product management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps, Aha!).
- Understanding of software development lifecycles, human‑centered design, UX/UI principles and digital marketing concepts.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
- 4‑year bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Business, Marketing, Computer Science or related field.
- Experience managing or influencing product strategy for enterprise infrastructure platforms (cloud, compute, storage, hosting).
- Knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, GitOps).
- Direct experience with Linux, Windows, compute, storage, database or mainframe platforms.
- Supervisory experience – this role has supervisory duties.
