Overview
Allstaff Professional Services Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Part Time Senior HR Advisor for a well-established manufacturing business based near Paisley. Due to the location it is essential that applicants have their own transport. This is a part time role of 22 hours over four or five days. The ideal candidate should come from a manufacturing background or be used to a fast-paced, changing environment. It is essential that they have dealt with high volume, complex ER cases and can support with appeals and guide staff and managers on the correct company and legal processes to follow.
Key accountabilities
- Coaching, challenging and assisting Line Managers in the understanding and implementation of policies such as performance management, absence management and disciplinary and grievance.
- Interpreting and advising on employment legislation.
- Proactively encouraging and coaching Line Managers to address absence and performance issues.
- Supporting Line Managers in the recruitment of staff – this includes developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing advertisements, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates.
- Liaising with a wide range of people involved in policy development such as staff performance and health and safety.
- Completing administration tasks such as meeting notes and procedure outcome letters. Working with the HSW Department to ensure Occupational Health cases are managed appropriately and offering Line Managers guidance on addressing complex absence cases.
- Advising on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits. Promoting equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation.
Key Requirements
- Experience of working in a similar role, ideally in a fast-paced industrial setting.
- Educated to at least degree level.
- CIPD qualified or working towards a CIPD qualification.
- Demonstrable experience of challenging the status quo and making suggestions for improvement.
- Excellent IT Literacy with high proficiency in Excel and Database Application or HRIS.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent administration and organisational skills.
- A full driving licence and access to own car.
Experience Required
- Minimum 24 months of experience in a similar HR role.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
