Allstaff Finance & Accountancy Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Finance Assistant. We are seeking a Finance Assistant to support the Financial Controller and the wider accounts team at a Glasgow manufacturing site. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within a busy and varied finance environment, working across multiple group companies.

Location: Glasgow

Hours of work: Monday to Thursday 08:15 – 16:45 (30 minute lunch break), Friday 08:15 – 12:15

Role type: Full time, temporary to permanent

Main duties:

  • Purchase ledger processing
  • Sales ledger support and credit control
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with supplier payments
  • Supporting month-end processes
  • Handling customer and supplier queries
  • Assisting with intercompany transactions
  • Filing and maintaining finance records
  • Answering telephone calls and assisting with general office administration
  • Providing support to the wider office team when required

Experience / Skills:

  • Previous accounts or finance experience preferred
  • Minimum 24 months’ relevant finance/accounts experience preferred
  • Experience using Excel essential
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central advantageous
  • Good attention to detail
  • Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Strong communication skills
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
