Finance Director

We are currently recruiting for a Finance Director based in Bedford for one of our clients on a permanent basis.

Summary of the Finance Director role

Salary: £72,500 – £78,000
Location: Bedford
Type of Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time

Responsibilities of the Finance Director

1. Operational line management of the finance function.
2. Prepare and submit audited statutory consolidated accounts.
3. Provide professional leadership and management of financial services across sites.
4. Financial reporting and monitoring, including payroll, staff pensions and supply costs.
5. Budget preparation.
6. Management accounts and financial statements.
7. Preparation of year-end.
8. Review cash flow.
9. Internal and external audit services.
10. Research and bid for additional funding.
11. Oversee VAT compliance.
12. Contribute to the development and review of a 3-year strategic business plan.

Requirements for a successful Finance Director

1. CIMA or other relevant CCAB qualified.
2. Previous progressive financial leadership experience.
3. Budget management and forecasting experience.
4. Experience leading a successful finance team.
5. Excellent working knowledge of public finances, procedures, practice and regulations.
6. Strong Excel skills.
7. Complex budget and financial planning modelling.
8. Commercially astute.
