We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner based in Bedford for one of our clients on a full-time permanent basis.
Summary of the Transport Planner role
- Salary: Competitive
- Location: Bedford
- Type of Contract: Permanent
- Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am-5.30pm and 1 in 4 Saturday mornings
Responsibilities of the Transport Planner
- Plan and coordinate transportation routes for efficient delivery of goods with excellent nationwide knowledge of road networks
- Help build runs for the general drivers
- Print and collate all driver’s paperwork
- Ensure drivers remain compliant
- Collaborate with internal teams
- Monitor and track drivers to ensure on-time delivery
- Maintain accurate records
- Communicate with drivers, carriers and customers to address any issues or concerns
Requirements for a successful Transport Planner
- Strong communication skills and customer service skills
- Strong geographical knowledge
- Strong interest in transport planning and a willingness to develop knowledge in the field
- Ability to be flexible
- Good problem-solving skills
- Full driving license with own transport is advantageous
