We have an exciting opportunity for a Transport Planner based in Bedford for one of our clients on a full-time permanent basis.

Summary of the Transport Planner role

  • Salary: Competitive
  • Location: Bedford
  • Type of Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: Monday – Friday 8.30am-5.30pm and 1 in 4 Saturday mornings

Responsibilities of the Transport Planner

  • Plan and coordinate transportation routes for efficient delivery of goods with excellent nationwide knowledge of road networks
  • Help build runs for the general drivers
  • Print and collate all driver’s paperwork
  • Ensure drivers remain compliant
  • Collaborate with internal teams
  • Monitor and track drivers to ensure on-time delivery
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Communicate with drivers, carriers and customers to address any issues or concerns

Requirements for a successful Transport Planner

  • Strong communication skills and customer service skills
  • Strong geographical knowledge
  • Strong interest in transport planning and a willingness to develop knowledge in the field
  • Ability to be flexible

  • Full driving license with own transport is advantageous
