Allstaff Manufacturing Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Assistant Buyer for a well established manufacturing company based in Renfrew. They are seeking an individual who is passionate about materials procurement and operational efficiency in manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supplier management and cost optimisation. You will play a crucial role in supporting production goals by ensuring the best quality materials are secured at competitive prices, contributing directly to continued success and growth. This is a full time, permanent position working Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5pm and Friday 8.30am – 4pm.
ROLE: The primary responsibilities include the sourcing of materials and services, managing procurement processes, and optimizing cost without compromising on quality. This involves:
- Developing and executing procurement strategies that align with company goals.
- Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
- Performing cost analyses and setting benchmarks for quality and cost.
- Ensuring timely delivery of materials and services from vendors.
- Conducting market research to stay updated on industry trends and new suppliers.
- Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Managing inventory levels to optimize stock turnover and reduce holding costs.
Knowledge & Experience
- Strong knowledge of procurement and vendor management software.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft software.
