Allstaff Finance & Accountancy Division are delighted to bring to the market the role of Credit Controller based with our client in Inchinnan, Renfrewshire. Working as part of a small and supportive team of two, this is an excellent opportunity for a confident credit professional who enjoys building strong customer relationships whilst maintaining effective credit control procedures. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a varied workload within a busy and fast-paced environment. Hours of work are Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm and Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm.

The role as Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debt and maintaining accurate account records. You will work closely with customers and internal departments to resolve queries efficiently and support the smooth running of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage a portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Chase outstanding payments by telephone, email and written correspondence.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Resolve invoice and payment queries in a timely manner.
  • Allocate incoming payments accurately.
  • Produce aged debt reports and assist with month-end procedures.
  • Monitor credit limits and highlight potential risks.
  • Support the wider finance team with administrative duties as required.
  • Work collaboratively within a team of two to achieve departmental objectives.
Experience Required
  • Previous credit control experience is essential.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Experience working within a busy finance environment.
  • Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
