We have an exciting opportunity for a Workshop Support Operative based in Bedford for one of our clients on a Full time permanent basis.

Summary of the Workshop Support Operative role

  • Salary: Β£26,000 - Β£30,000
  • Location: Bedford
  • Type of Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: Monday-Thursday 8.15am-4.45pm, Friday 8.15am-1.45pm

Responsibilities of the Workshop Support Operative

  • Assist with pressure testing of various pump components
  • Assist with rigging and derigging
  • Prepare pumps for dispatch
  • Assist with general operation activities
  • Use overhead cranes and forklift trucks to move large and heavy items
  • Loading and unloading of vehicles
  • Collection and delivery of smaller parts

Requirements for a successful Workshop Support Operative

  • Experience working within a similar mechanical assembly environment
  • Full UK driving license
  • Qualified overhead crane and forklift user
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Proactive and willingness to learn and develop technical skills
