We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer based in Bedford for one of our clients on a Full Time Permanent basis.
Summary of the Principal Engineer role
- Salary: £75,000
- Location: Bedford
- Type of Contract: Permanent
- Hours: Monday Thursday 8.15am 4.45pm, Friday 8.15am 1.45pm
Responsibilities of the Principal Engineer
- Lead R&D initiatives and root cause analysis
- Enhance project toll gates
- Translate customer technical requirements and specifications
- Implement product standardisation strategy aligned with sales
- Provide technical support and leadership
- Quotation and selection processes for motors and pumps ensuring compliance with application
- Influence specification development
- ATEX competency lead in collaboration with Engineering Manager
Requirements for a successful Principal Engineer
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Experience of mechanical engineering design and analysis
- Experience of water industry markets
- Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles
- Knowledge in pump engineering
