We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced MHE Trainer & Safety Coordinator based in Luton for one of our clients on a permanent basis. Our client is a well-established wholesale distributor.

Summary of the MHE Trainer & Safety Coordinator role

  • Salary: £35,000
  • Location: Luton
  • Type of Contract: Permanent
  • Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities of the MHE Trainer & Safety Coordinator

  • Oversee the maintenance, availability, and user compliance with manual handling equipment.
  • Coordinate with maintenance contractor, schedule repairs, manage equipment utilisation, and track inventory.
  • Schedule routine maintenance and carry out inspections of MHE.
  • Coordinate with the external contractor for repairs.
  • Deliver and maintain all training for all staff, including managing refreshers.
  • Carry out observational audits.
  • Ensure equipment meets safety standards and conduct certification renewals.

Requirements for a successful MHE Trainer & Safety Coordinator

  • Experience within a similar role previously.
  • Proven Health and Safety knowledge/compliance.
  • RTITB certified.
  • MHE train the trainer in accordance with ACOP L117.
  • IOSH qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Emergency first aid at work trained.
  • Fire Marshal.
