We are looking for a Compliance Officer level specialist to join our Compliance team in London for an interim period. Sales Practices Compliance experience, and specialist knowledge in particular of financial promotion and marketing rules for professional (non‑retail) investors in the UK and Europe, are essential as a large portion of the time with the team will require review of promotional materials, pitchbooks and social media content, provide advice, and support workstreams and projects that support and service predominantly our front office sales and distribution teams and our International marketing team.

Demonstrable experience of specialist understanding and advising on FCA financial promotion rules and a good knowledge and experience of ESMA Marketing Guidelines and other related rules in the EMEA region will be necessary, with knowledge and experience of advising on the equivalent rules in APAC also highly beneficial to the role. We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in‑office 4 days per week.

Key Information: This is a fixed term contract for 14 months for a maternity cover. Location(s): London, UK.

Responsibilities:

  • General compliance advisory work;
  • Contributing to the team’s understanding of upcoming regulatory change (such as CCI, SFDR 2.0 and EU Retail Investment Strategy, although specialist knowledge not expected);
  • Working with colleagues on a review of the Compliance team’s cross‑border sales and marketing guidance matrix used by our front office stakeholders in Sales & Distribution;
  • Helping the team to update and develop staff compliance training modules;
  • Policy review and updating work;
  • Collaborating with colleagues on the development of A.I. supported processes utilising Microsoft Co‑Pilot, testing potential process enhancements and sharing experiences and feedback with colleagues;
  • Supporting Compliance‑related Internal Audit deliverables and annual risk assessments our team supports (e.g., financial crimes risk assessments);
  • Compliance team representation on projects and working groups.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a compliance advisory role (preferably within an asset management firm).
  • Strong understanding of FCA financial promotion rules and a good knowledge and experience of ESMA Marketing Guidelines and other related rules in the EMEA region.
  • An understanding and some experience of EU and US regulatory requirements and how these apply to an EMEA asset management line of business.
  • An energetic attitude to work, and strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrable ability to provide compliance advice – in writing or in face‑to‑face environments (meetings, presentations, etc.) – in a planned, clear, articulate, knowledgeable and understandable way that is appropriate to the reader / audience.
  • The ability to interact confidently with stakeholders across all business units and at all levels of the organisation.
  • Partnership skills – you will be a key partner with our business colleagues across EMEA and must cultivate and maintain excellent working relationships and credibility with all, including with our Compliance colleagues in APAC, Luxembourg and the US.
  • Problem‑solving skills – you must have the ability, gained through experience, to identify key issues, and obtain appropriate information for further analysis, proffering alternative solutions aligned with the Allspring approach.
  • Experience of using Co‑Pilot will be very helpful.
  • Teamwork skills – flexibility in work style and with an ability, willingness and enthusiasm to work collaboratively with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels.
  • PC skills – including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other tools but also able to understand technology for improving the regulatory control environment.
  • An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Unquestionable ethics.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferably holds a relevant industry qualification (such as a CISI Compliance Diploma) and/or a graduate qualification (university degree or equivalent).

Compensation: Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non‑annual incentive or sales plans).
