Overview

Allspring Global Investments are hiring an International Business Manager supporting the International Client Group.

The role requires an experienced professional with 7+ years’ experience who can operate independently, lead cross-functional initiatives, produce senior-level management insight, strengthen governance and help drive strategic execution across the international business.

This is a high-exposure role for someone with the judgement, capability and ambition to become a future senior leader.

We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 4 days per week.

Line Management

The role will report into the Head of International Client Relations, Distribution Operations & Governance, but will work closely with the Head of International Client Group and other members of the ICG management team.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Business Management and Strategic Execution
  • Act as a business management partner to senior leaders across the International Client Group, helping translate strategic priorities into clear plans, actions, reporting and measurable outcomes.
  • Own and maintain the International Client Group operating rhythm, including business reviews, KPI tracking, leadership meeting preparation, action follow-up and progress reporting.
  • Lead the development, tracking and monitoring of business plans, KPIs and strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with the group’s growth, retention, client experience and client defence priorities.
  • Build a deep understanding of the international client book, pipeline, revenue drivers, retention risks, client segmentation and cross-sell opportunities.
  • Provide insight and challenge to senior stakeholders by analysing activity, pipeline progression, retention trends, client engagement and business performance.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities to improve the way the International Client Group operates across regions, teams and functions.
  • 2. Management Information, Reporting and Insight
  • Design, produce and continuously improve senior management dashboards, business performance packs and reporting frameworks for the International Client Group.
  • Prepare high-quality reporting for senior leadership, quarterly business reviews, management committees, executive committees and relevant governance forums.
  • Translate complex business, client and activity data into clear, concise insight for decision-making.
  • Develop simplified reporting extracts and communication materials for wider team use, ensuring that key priorities, performance messages and actions are clearly understood.
  • Work with CRM, pipeline, financial and client data to track progress against business objectives, client activity, cross-sell opportunities and relationship risks.
  • Improve data quality, reporting consistency and management information standards across the team.
  • 3. Board and Committee Reporting
  • Coordinate and prepare submissions for relevant UK, Luxembourg, APAC and international forums, ensuring materials are accurate, timely and appropriately tailored for senior audiences.
  • Own the coordination of International Client Group input into board, management committee and executive committee materials.
  • Ensure consistency of messaging, data and narrative across board reports, QBR materials and senior stakeholder updates.
  • Track actions arising from forums and ensure appropriate follow-up with stakeholders across the business.
  • 4. Client Oversight, Client Audit and Client Defence
  • Own and drive the ongoing client audit process, including planning, documentation, stakeholder coordination, follow-up actions and reporting of themes and outcomes.
  • Coordinate client feedback, client risk indicators and service observations to identify improvement opportunities and relationship priorities.
  • Support senior leaders in preparing for significant client reviews, strategic relationship discussions and retention planning.
  • Develop reporting that highlights client risks, emerging themes, relationship trends and opportunities to improve client experience.
  • 5. Cross-Functional Project Leadership
  • Lead strategic and operational projects aligned to the International Client Group business plan.
  • Establish project plans, milestones, ownership, risks, dependencies and reporting for key initiatives.
  • Ensure projects are delivered with appropriate pace, accountability and stakeholder engagement.
  • Escalate risks and blockers clearly, while proactively proposing solutions.
  • Build an effective interface with the global project management office to ensure alignment of all activities alongside transfer of learnings and best practices.
  • 6. Senior Stakeholder and Leadership Support
  • Prepare senior-level presentations, briefing notes, meeting materials and decision papers for internal and external audiences.
  • Support senior leaders with prioritisation, meeting preparation, follow-up, communication, stakeholder coordination and strategic project execution.
  • Act as a trusted point of coordination across the International Client Group, helping ensure that priorities are visible, actions are tracked and deliverables are completed.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential materials with discretion, judgement and professionalism.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across geographies and functions.
  • 7. CRM, Client Data and Distribution Operations
  • Use CRM and related data platforms to extract, analyse and interpret client activity, pipeline, opportunities, relationship coverage and business development metrics.
  • Partner with distribution enablement, marketing and distribution to improve the quality, consistency and usefulness of CRM data across the International Client Group.
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure client activity, pipeline updates, cross-sell opportunities and client risk information are captured accurately.
  • Develop reporting that helps senior leaders understand client coverage, engagement quality, sales activity, retention risks and growth opportunities.
  • Support the development of more disciplined client knowledge, segmentation and opportunity identification processes.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in asset management, investment management, distribution, client relations, business management, strategy, project management, consultant relations, sales management or a related function.
  • Proven experience working with senior stakeholders and preparing materials for executive, board, committee or senior management audiences.
  • Strong understanding of asset management distribution, client servicing, pipeline management and the operating model supporting international client teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, coordinate cross-functional teams and deliver change through influence rather than direct authority.
  • Experience producing management information, dashboards, business reviews, KPIs and strategic reporting.
  • Experience working with CRM systems (ideally Sales Force) and client / pipeline data.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and convert it into clear business insight.
  • Excellent Power Point and Excel, Copilot capability, with the ability to create polished, accurate and senior-ready materials.
  • High level of discretion and judgement when working with confidential or sensitive information.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, international environment across multiple regions and stakeholders.
