Allsop is a leading independent property consultancy with a strong reputation across commercial and residential real estate. As part of our continued growth, we are establishing a new Planning department and are seeking an experienced Associate Planner to play a key role in its development. This is a rare opportunity to help shape and grow a planning function from the ground up within a well-established, market-leading business. You will take a leading role in delivering high-quality planning advice across a broad range of property and development projects, working closely with senior colleagues and clients.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing planning applications, appeals and pre-application strategies.
- Providing clear, commercially focused planning advice to clients.
- Preparing planning statements, reports and appraisals.
- Leading engagement with local planning authorities and key stakeholders.
- Supporting business development and helping to grow the Planning department.
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of the team.
- Proactively creating business development opportunities.
- Working collaboratively with Allsop’s wider property, valuation and development teams.
MAIN CAPABILITIES
We are keen to hear from candidates with a strong consultancy or developer led planning background. You will ideally have:
- A RTPI or RICS accredited master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline.
- RTPI or RICS membership or working towards chartered status (highly desirable).
- Proven experience delivering planning advice and managing applications.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills.
- A commercial mindset with an interest in the wider property market.
- The ability to work autonomously and help shape a growing department.

WHAT WE OFFER
A key role in establishing and shaping a new Planning department. Exposure to a diverse range of high-profile projects and clients. Genuine scope to influence the direction and growth of the service. Competitive salary package £45,000-£55,000 (depending on experience) plus annual bonus. 23 days annual leave plus bank holidays and office closure over Christmas (3-5 days with colleagues “on leave” but not having to take annual leave to enjoy these days off). A full range of benefits including BUPA private healthcare, pension scheme with 5% employer contributions, life insurance, season ticket loans, cycle to work scheme, daily office fruit, plenty of social events and more.
