Your Role as a Year 2 Specialist

As a Year 2 Supply Teacher, you are responsible for maintaining high expectations and helping pupils bridge the gap to more independent learning. Deliver engaging lessons in Literacy and Numeracy that challenge "Greater Depth" learners while supporting those meeting expectations.

Phonics & Reading: Continue to embed strong decoding skills and foster a genuine love for reading as children move toward more complex texts. Maintain a focused and positive learning environment using established behaviour management strategies.

Consistent Continuity: Follow the permanent teacher's planning accurately or use your own high-quality "emergency" resources to ensure a productive day of learning.

We are looking for qualified professionals who understand the nuances of the Year 2 curriculum. You are an ideal fit if you:

  • Hold QTS: You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Are a Year 2 Expert: You have a solid understanding of KS1 assessment frameworks and the Year 2 National Curriculum.
  • Are Resilient & Adaptable: You can step into a new classroom and quickly understand the needs of the pupils and the school's specific routines.
