We are recruiting on behalf of a leading UK automotive accident repairer to appoint a MET Technician at their busy Gloucester centre. This MET Technician role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled vehicle body repair professional to join a well-established company committed to quality and customer satisfaction.
- Starting hourly rate of Β£22-23, dependent on experience, with a generous uncapped performance-related bonus
- Overtime available at standard rate, subject to demand

Duties of a MET Technician :
- Carry out body repair work on customer vehicles to high-quality standards
- Remove damaged parts to facilitate repairs, ensuring safe storage for refitting
- Inspect for additional damage, liaising with the Vehicle Damage Assessor and ordering necessary parts
- Verify parts' correctness and availability to ensure smooth repair progression
- Refurbish and refit vehicle panels, ensuring panels are aligned within manufacturer tolerances
- Replace mechanical components such as steering, drivetrain, and engine parts as required
- Reset vehicle Control Units using diagnostic tools as a MET Technician
- Follow health and safety procedures and attend regular safety training
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in proper condition
- Support colleagues and manage workload efficiently, occasionally undertaking additional activities
Requirements of a MET Technician :
- Recognised qualification in automotive MET/vehicle body repair or working towards an IMI qualification
- Strong track record in vehicle body repair or strip and fit, or experience as a Vehicle Technician seeking a move into body repair
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- Capability to perform tasks as per job cards to manufacturer standards
- Effective multi-tasking and workload prioritisation skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting team members
- A valid UK driving licence with minimal points
