As an imaging team we have gone through a period of structural reorganisation. We are now managed through a site based division and feel this has given us the oversight, and support to deliver on our ambitions. We are currently transitioning to a 24/7 rota with the Imaging team recruiting additional staff and implementing new rotas.
You will oversee the day-to-day running of the X-ray department covering Fluoroscopy, Interventional, Theatres, Mobile X-ray, A+E X-ray, GP X-ray, Inpatient X-ray and Outpatient X-ray and line manage the Superintendents. You will also work closely with the Imaging Manager, Clinical Director and Site Lead to develop new pathways and update training packs and protocols so they are meeting best practice guidelines.
The post holder will lead and develop the x-ray departments within core services for the following referral pathways: in-patient; out-patient; surgical; emergency; community and general practice. They will manage staff, resources and activity, to deliver a safe, effective and efficient service that meets patients, carers, staff and commissioners requirements and the Vision of Barts Health NHS Trust.
The post holder will provide specialist advice in the X-ray modality, including plain film X-ray, fluoroscopy, interventional and advanced practice Radiography and they will also undertake clinical duties.
The post holder will be held responsible for the operational performance across the Core Services modality at Whipps Cross Hospital. This includes financial, HR, information governance and key performance objectives.
The post holder will be responsible for managing Radiographers and Radiography Imaging Assistants, including recruitment, appraisal, CPD and performance across the modality.
The post holder will promote the continuous improvement in service delivery and quality within all areas of the relevant modality using modern methods to improve productivity, through quality improvement methodology.
