Lee Wright Plumbing & Heating Ltd requires a Driver / General Labourer to work on our Wrexham Council contract, supporting the preparation and refurbishment of Council properties.
The role will involve a combination of driving duties and hands-on general labouring, including preparing vacant and occupied properties ready for refurbishment works and assisting with general strip-out and clearance activities.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparing properties prior to refurbishment works commencing.
- Undertaking general strip-out and rip-out works, including the removal of existing fixtures, fittings, sanitaryware, kitchen units, flooring and other non-structural items as instructed.
- Clearing properties of waste, redundant materials and unwanted items.
- Loading, unloading and moving building materials, tools and equipment.
- Assisting tradespeople with general labouring duties throughout refurbishment works.
- Keeping properties, work areas and access routes clean, tidy and safe.
- Segregating and disposing of waste in accordance with company and site procedures.
- Driving company vehicles to transport operatives, materials, tools and equipment between the depot, suppliers and Council properties.
- Collecting materials and making deliveries to sites as required.
- Carrying out basic daily vehicle checks and reporting defects promptly.
- Protecting retained fixtures, surfaces and areas of the property from damage during strip-out and refurbishment works.
- Following site instructions, risk assessments, method statements and Health & Safety procedures at all times.
- Reporting any unexpected defects, suspected asbestos-containing materials, damaged services or other hazards before continuing work.
- Working professionally and respectfully within Council properties and around residents, Council representatives and other contractors.
- Carrying out any other reasonable general labouring duties required to support the refurbishment programme.
A full UK driving licence is essential. Previous experience of property refurbishment, construction labouring, strip-out or void property works would be advantageous.
