We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic

Engineering Lecturer to join our thriving Engineering department.

This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality teaching to students studying engineering programmes within a modern Further Education college.

About the Role

As an Engineering Lecturer, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons across a range of engineering programmes, helping students develop the knowledge, technical skills, and behaviours required for further study, apprenticeships, or employment within the engineering sector.

You will teach learners from Level 1 through to Level 3 (and higher levels where appropriate), combining classroom-based learning with practical workshop activities to create an inspiring and inclusive learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding teaching and learning across engineering programmes.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess lessons that meet awarding body and curriculum requirements.
  • Teach engineering theory and practical skills in a safe workshop environment.
  • Support learners to achieve their academic and personal goals.
  • Monitor learner progress, attendance, and achievement, providing constructive feedback and support.
  • Prepare students for employment, apprenticeships, and higher education.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and complete all assessment documentation.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, course development, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Promote equality, diversity, safeguarding, and health & safety throughout all teaching activities.
  • Build positive relationships with employers and industry partners to enhance learner opportunities.

What We're Looking For

  • A Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Relevant industrial experience within an engineering environment.
  • Strong practical and theoretical engineering knowledge.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding learner outcomes.
  • A passion for developing the future engineering workforce.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, Diploma in Education and Training, or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching within a Further Education college, apprenticeship provision, or workplace training environment.
  • Assessor and/or Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
  • Experience delivering BTEC, City & Guilds, EAL, T Level, or apprenticeship engineering programmes.
