Cygnet Healthcareis looking fora Learning Disabilities Support Workerto join our team working at Oakwood Gardens.
Youll be working42 hours a week (days 07:45am -08:00pm and nights 19:45pm - 08:00am, includingalternative weekends) making a positive difference to the lives of the people in our care at Oakwood Gardens.
Due to the clients request, we are currently only looking for male Support Workers to apply and interview.
Oakwood Gardenshas9 self-contained bungalows supporting adults over the age of 18 with learning difficulties & autism, located in WV5 0BR, Wombourne.
Our Supported Living provides nine tenancies.
The service empowers individuals with complex mental health needs, learning disabilities, autism, and challenging behaviours to live more independently.
The service offers personalised and tailored support in a private space, allowing the people we support to hold their own tenancy with a registered housing association.
- Must have previous experience working with learning disabilities to apply
- Driven with a desire to make a real difference in peoples lives
- Experienced for 1 year plus in a support setting working with learning disabilities
- An excellent communicator and a good team player
- Caring and unde rstanding with the energy required to provide a trusting, stimulating & varied environment
- Passionate about empowering & supporting service user independence
About the Role...
- Helping to promote resident independence
- Supporting residents in all aspects of day-to-day life, encouraging and promoting independence
- Monitoring of residents and reporting concerns to senior team members or managers
- Going out with residents into the local community to attend events, parks, restaurants and local activities
- Completing the residents records to help monitor health
