Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wolverhampton to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 2 Teacher for a full academic year position starting in September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to join a school that is committed to nurturing confident, happy and successful learners. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 2 class and play a key role in supporting pupils as they progress through Key Stage 1. The school is looking for a teacher who has experience within KS1, a strong understanding of phonics and the ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons that inspire and challenge pupils.
Your new role:
- Full-time Year 2 Teacher position
- Planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum
- Delivering high-quality phonics teaching and supporting pupils' literacy development
- Assessing, tracking and monitoring pupil progress
- Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
- Working closely with colleagues, support staff and parents to support pupil achievement
- Dedicated PPA time provided
What you'll need to succeed:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Recent experience teaching within Key Stage 1
- Strong knowledge of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment requirements
- Experience delivering systematic phonics teaching
- Confident planning and delivering engaging lessons
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- A passion for helping children achieve their full potential
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
