Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Wolverhampton to recruit a qualified Nursery Teacher for a maternity cover position from September to December 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to join a nurturing school community that places children's happiness, wellbeing and development at the heart of everything it does. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a nursery class, delivering engaging and creative learning experiences that support children's early development. Planning is already in place, providing a strong foundation, although you will be encouraged to adapt and enhance lessons to suit your own teaching style and meet the needs of the children in your care.

Your new role:

  • Full-time Nursery Teacher position
  • September 2026 to December 2026 maternity cover
  • Delivering high-quality learning in line with the EYFS Framework
  • Using existing planning while adapting lessons to suit pupils' needs and your teaching style
  • Creating a positive, stimulating and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitoring and tracking children's progress and development
  • Working closely with support staff, parents and school leaders

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Previous experience teaching within a Nursery or EYFS setting
  • Excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework
  • Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
  • A nurturing and child-centred approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and families
  • A passion for supporting children during the important early stages of their education
